Eastbourne’s Lightning Fibre Ice Rink Returns, bigger and better, for 2022

Your Eastbourne BID has confirmed the hotly anticipated return of the Eastbourne Lightning Fibre Ice Rink, with a ‘real ice’ ice rink in the town centre, larger than the hugely popular rink launched last Christmas. The Rink opens on 1st December 2022 and runs through to 8th January 2023, open every day except Christmas Day.  The rink operates from 10am to 8pm on weekdays and 10am to 10pm at weekends.

Located in “Winterland”, a vibrant Christmas-themed food, dink and retail space, outside the Enterprise Shopping Centre, the Rink is once again sponsored by Lightning Fibre, the local Full Fibre broadband operator and ISP for East Sussex.

Chief Executive of Your Eastbourne BID, Stephen Holt said “The support for the Lightning Fibre Ice Rink last year was just incredible,with over 17,000 skaters in its first year, we simply couldn’t wait to announce its return.  We saw a large number of sold out sessions last year, so when the box office opens next Friday, I would urge everyone to get your skates on and book as soon as possible to avoid missing out.”

Lightning Fibre customers will be emailed an exclusive discount code.  School group sessions will also be available to book in advance at a reduced rate, and based on feedback from 2021, this year lockers will be available to hire for a small fee.

The Rink is fully accessible for wheelchair users and special ‘quiet’ sessions (with fewer skaters on the ice, less music and no flashing lights) are available on certain dates throughout the season.  Registered carers skate for free.

The popular Booksy-sponsored penguin skate aids will once again be available to hire for children and for those who need a little extra support.
