If the fibre is fed from the ground (as opposed to via a telegraph pole), this is called a 'toby fed' install.
Our video will give you an idea of what takes place on the day of your installation.
We will need to drill a hole through the external wall of your property.
The installation team will talk you through the whole process on the day BEFORE they undertake any work.
We use the existing telegraph pole infrastructure - when available - so the new fibre runs from the pole to your home, in much the same way as the older copper wire.
This means that we do not need to lay fibre across your land. We still need to drill a hole in your external wall to allow access to the modem inside your property.
Occasionally we can utilise the existing Openreach duct network, using an access agreement we have with Openreach (PIA). This involves running our fibre through Openreach ducting, a common application of this would be when installing to 'new build' estates. Each property has an 'upturn', and this is where the fibre will be presented at your house.
Much like Pole and Toby-Fed installs, we will still need to drill a hole through the wall in order to connect the fibre to your new modem (ONT).
