Local Internet Service Provider Lightning Fibre connects first full fibre broadband customer in Worthing

Eastbourne-based full fibre broadband provider Lightning Fibre has connected its first Worthing customer, after recently expanding into West Sussex.

The independent firm, founded 2018, covers East Sussex and Kent using both its own full fibre infrastructure and third party networks, and was named the best ISP in the 2023 ISPA Awards**

A full fibre network - fibre to the premises (FTTP) - is not just faster and more stable than an old copper-based broadband service, it’s also much more reliable. Fibre optics can carry vast amounts of data, over long distances, unlike the older copper network. As a symmetric network, Lightning Fibre broadband delivers guaranteed upload and download speeds of 150Mbps or more at the modem, which is considerably faster than the average speeds achieved by copper and fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) networks.

With prices from £26 per month*, the company offers a fixed price for 24 months, although 12 month and rolling contracts are available, and the company does not impose mid-contract inflation-busting price hikes each April, unlike mainstream competitors.
