Lightning Fibre launches 'One Touch Switch' to make changing broadband providers quick and simple
Industry regultor Ofcom recently anounced plans for One Touch Switch, a new switching process that makes it easier and quicker to switch your broadband or home phone provider. So, with one touch switch it's really simple to move your broadband to Lightning Fibre's lightning-fast Full Fibre. How does it work?
With One Touch Switch, Lightning Fibre will contact your current broadband provider and handle the switch over, saving you time and hassle.
Ofcom research showed that four in ten people (41%) who decide against switching were put off by the hassle of having to contact more than one provider. A similar number (43%) were put off switching as they think it will be too time-consuming. And of those who do switch, nearly a quarter (24%) who contact their current provider face unwanted attempts to persuade them to stay.
Lightning Fibre's One Touch Switch uses the new TOTSCo One Touch Switching system. One Touch Switching will ensure a single switching process across all fixed providers for the first time. Customers will only have to contact their new provider, who then becomes responsible for ensuring the informed consent to the switch is obtained.
Lindsey Fussell, Ofcom's Networks and Communications Group Director said, "We’re making it as easy as possible for you to break up with your broadband provider and take advantage of the deals on offer."
Lightning Fibre has a range of full fibre and Virtual Landline packages to suit all needs and budgets, for example Fibre50 for those on means-tested benefits plus a pay as you go virtual landline (VoIP) service (to replace the need for a copper-line telephone) costs just £22 per month (£15 per month plus £7 per month for VoIP). This package is available by phone, not online), call 01323 380260.
One Touch Switch improves the consumer experience of changing broadband providers and means there are fewer barriers to shopping around for a cheaper, more reliable connection.
If you want to change provider before the end of your minimum contract period, you might have to pay early termination charges (unless you're not getting the speeds you were promised). Check with your current provider whether you will need to pay any charges when you switch.
And remember, you always have a 14-calendar-day ‘cooling off’ period, during which you can cancel your request to switch broadband provider – without being charged.
